Unfortunately though, we only managed to buy gifts for exactly 6 people. Puro maganda nga, mahal naman.... so I decided to just make gifts for the other people we haven't bought gifts for. I repeated gifts for twice. Now I just repeated it thrice. :o Lalaalaah... hay pagod.
And believe it or not, majority of the gifts we bought came from Toy Kingdom. I don't know what brought us to buy our gifts from there, but the entire atmosphere of being a kid seemed to carry us to do so. Entering a Christmas-themed Toy Kingdom again for once in a long time brought me the excitement I used to feel in my previous Christmases, the same feeling I've constantly been trying to find this year.... to no avail.
As I watched all the kids and parents passing through the countless aisles of toys, I couldn't help but wish that I had the chance to experience being a kid again. I miss writing letters to Santa and placing them in our Christmas stockings, and getting thrilled upon seeing Santa's signature on the card of the gift he left me. I miss getting excited about feeling the cool breeze in early December. I miss having the some of the shallowest joys and worries in life-- including worrying about not being able to get what I asked for, and then finding that I did.
I just want to feel Christmas again. I want to feel like I can be a kid again... even for just a few days every year. I can't understand why the Christmas spirit doesn't seem to be present right now.
Hay... anyway, I'm going to have to look for all of that in Christmas songs for now. Because of this, I finally decided to add BG music, especially since Venisse Mais' blog inspired me to do so. :) I love feel-good music. It serves as a reminder that things will make a turn for the better soon.
Besides, I'm definitely not going to let the general absence of Christmas happiness ruin my favorite season of the year. :) Let's perk up and make the season a happy one! Haha :D
